My Skin Care Routine

My skincare routine has changed SO MUCH this year. Having gone from make-up wipes and whatever face cream I could buy in Tesco to actually enjoying having a routine from cleansing to using incredible facial oils.

This post is about what I use everyday and how I use it. I’m no expert {far from it} this is what works well for me and my skin. Here are some amazing accounts you should definitely check out for skin care tips;

Nicola Dougan - every Sunday she hosts a skin care question box where she’ll answer any skincare related questions.

Andrew, The Skin Care Saviour - for the science behind skincare. Great HONEST reviews on products.

SKYN Glasgow - for the best facials and help with developing a skincare routine just for you!

I use this camomile oil at least once a day (as you can see I really must get a new one!!). It’s beautifully silky and removes EVERY bit of make up with EASE. Just a few pumps, warmed in my hands and then massage it into my face. Beware; you will look like you’ve smeared a mud mask on your face LOL. I remove it with a warmed (but not too hot) face cloth. PLEASE don’t buy a white facecloth, thats a rookie mistake!!

Once I’ve cleansed with the Camomile Oil (or removed my make up) I use my Medik8 products. I got these when I had my amazing facial at SKYN Glasgow. They were recommended specifically to suit my skin.

I use just a few drops of this Medik8 C-Tetra serum. It smells amazing and absorbs so well!

If there’s one thing I would like you to take away from this post is how important it is to introduce a SPF into your skincare. Not using one daily will be the biggest contributor in ageing your skin.

This Medik8 Advanced Day Total Protect has a built in SPF 30 and you’ll notice a 5* UVA {important}

I will be adding some Ultra Sun Daily cream into my routine. I currently use the lip balm, its so nice and moisturising!

I use this serum before applying my light face gel.

Although I do love facial oil I still need to feel a cream on my face, is that strange? I was recommended to use this Vitamin E collection from The Body Shop from a lovely consultant in our local store.

Did you know that in Body Shops they have skin consultants that can test your skin to find out which of their products will work best for you? I actually went in to buy their tea tree range but the lady looked at my skin and recommended this collection instead as she said the tea tree range suits oily skin better, it would just dry my skin out.

So, yeh, I prefer and chose the gel day moisturiser as it doesn’t feel quite as heavy for applying my make up onto.

The night cream feels so hydrating on my skin, the perfect skin treat before sleep!

These beautiful bottles were kindly sent to me as a gift to try out. I’ve only just started using them but so far I really love them. They are large bottles and a little goes a long way!

I use the Radiance Serum first, it absorbs really quickly. It can feel a little sticky before its dry but once it has fully absorbed it feels so incredibly soft.

I then use the ‘Glow in a Bottle’ - what a magical name!! It has the loveliest light scent. The first day I used it I used the dropper directly onto my cheek but its so light and runny it came out way too fast. So now I use just a few drops on my hand and gently warm it then apply to my face. It feels glorious!

I can’t tell how much I would recommend indulging in a skincare routine for some self care. I actually look forward to taking my make up off and using all the products together.

This little beauty isn’t something I use everyday but anytime I get a spot this guys is first on the job!!

I would recommend it to anyone who has an occasional spot or blemish. It instantly kills the redness of my spots and after a few days most of them have gone.

What kind of skin care routine do you have? What are your go-to products?
